Dear Parents and Carers,
I apologise for communicating with you on a Sunday but as I am sure you are already aware there has been lots of debate in the national press regarding the safe opening of schools. Our priority as always is to ensure the safety of our children and wider school community.
This afternoon members of the senior leadership team have met with representatives of the governing body and have felt it necessary to close to all pupils tomorrow (Monday January 4th). This is as a result of staffing issues which would make it extremely difficult to ensure that the school can operate safely.
On Tuesday 5th January we are intending to open for children who normally attend the POD and vulnerable and key worker children only. If you have not been contacted on Monday 4th January then your child will switch to remote learning and teachers will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss the arrangements for each year group. Children are expected to complete the work set. If you have any questions or issues including accessing learning or support with technology, then please contact the school using the phone number for your year group which will be posted on Class Dojo.
This is not a decision that we have taken lightly but is necessary for us to review procedures, staffing and risk assessments to ensure that everyone is safe to return. The senior leadership team and governing body will be assessing the situation on a daily basis and will provide updates as soon as possible.
