During the Autumn Term, Year 5 have continued working in association with the Fishermen’s Hospital. All of the children in the year group visited the Fishermen’s Hospital during the Heritage Open Days in September and then created some yummy food to share with the residents in October and again in December. On Thursday 13th December, the children presented the residents with pillowcases as Christmas presents. The children had decorated these with designs based on tessellation, initially developed by the artist Escher, and then over-layered the designs with motifs created using their knowledge of Anglo-Saxon artefacts. A great effort by everyone involved – thank you Year 5!
